Leonardo’s curiosity led him to a packed young life: he began his journey in sound at the age on 6, where he started to play the piano and later came to study at Conservatório Regional de Música de Vila Real. In the meanwhile, he played in the local philharmonic band, where he learnt to play trumpet an alto saxophone, and did his first compositional experiments in Finale. However, video also soon came to be an early infatuation, as he would spend hours watching VHS tapes and soon got his first little compact camera, doing short films with friends and looking at the world from a new perspective. Later, in his teenage years, on a late summer night, was on a random Google search where Leonardo saw a DAW for the first time, where he almost immediately started to materialize his compositions, and where his passion for sound manipulation was born.
Nowadays, it’s from the liminality between image and sound that Leo breathes inspiration and singularity from, creating moving and vivid pictures with sound, and translating rhythm and harmony into visual experiences.
